Speech & Language

A Speech-Language Pathologist is interested in helping all areas of children's communication skills develop. We are concerned when there is weakness in one or more types of skill.
Some children will experience multiple areas of delay.
They may have underlying challenges of attention or social interaction which make speech and language learning very difficult. Or, they may have cognitive delays secondary to
a developmental delay and have a slower course of development.
For other children, many areas of communication development are proceeding typically while other types of skill are weak.
It is important that we target treatment appropriately in order to help children participate more fully in their families, peer groups, school settings, and community.
